Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oksana Syroyid has announced submission of the draft law "On the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine." This draft law offers some important issues, in particular:
- it prohibits supply to the occupied territories of fuel and energy resources, and water;
- it prohibits import of cargoes (goods) from the occupied territories, except personal belongings of citizens;
- it determines legal status of the state and customs border for the delimitation line;
- it prohibits holding of elections and referendums in the temporarily occupied territory;
- it allows transportation of personal belongings and humanitarian aid.
Syroyid expressed hope for support of the draft law by the civil society, stressing the need to counter the terrorists and Russia’s mercenaries in all directions, including in the economic sphere.
